Meyers Norris Penny has plans to build on the corner of Cheadle Street and 1st Ave NE.
Last Tuesday, council approved new zoning for the area, which includes a parking lot north of the RCMP detachment.
Connecting Care had originally planned to build a senior's home on this property… right next to every downtown bar in the city, probably better that they didn’t go ahead with that.

A major tornado outbreak across the Southern United States leaves 57 dead, the most since the May 31, 1985 outbreak that killed 88.
Eighty-seven tornadoes occurred over the course of the outbreak, which lasted over 15 hours.
It also produced hail as large as softballs – 4.5 inches (11 cm) in diameter – major flooding, significant freezing rain, and heavy snow across many areas of eastern North America. The total damage from the entire weather system exceeded $1 billion
National news headlines this morning: Pluto is changing its looks, donning more rouge in its complexion and altering its iceball surface here and there.
It hasn’t changed colors from 1954 till now, but all of a sudden astronomers say it has about 20 percent more red than it used to have.
I’m willing to bet it’s just mad that it isn’t a planet anymore.
